Once, a merchant owed some money to a mean moneylender. Now, the moneylender had an eye on the merchant’s daughter, One day, he said to the merchant, “I have a proposition. I will put two pebbles-black and white in a bag.

If your daughter picks a black pebble, she will become my wife. And if she picks a white pebble, she need not marry me and your debt will be forgiven.”

The merchant agreed. The moneylender picked two pebbles but both were black. The daughter saw this.

Later, she picked a pebble from the bag but deliberately dropped it. The pebble got mixed up with the other pebbles on the ground.

The daughter said to the moneylender, “Look inside the bag and you will be able to tell which pebble I picked.”

The moneylender sighed, for he knew that the bag contained only the black pebble.

The merchant and his daughter were very happy.

Moral: There is a solution to every problem.
