There was a man, who was always active in his organization, everyone knew him in the organization and he got great respect too.
But suddenly, due to some reason he became inactive, stopped socializing and got away from the organization.
All the members in the organization observed this and shared this to the head person. A few weeks later, on a very cold night, the head of the organization decided to meet him. The head went to the man’s house and found that the man was alone at home. Sitting in front of the flame of burning wood in a borsi, the fire was heating comfortably. The man welcomed the visiting head very quietly.
Both sat silently. Only kept watching the flames rising to the top. After sometime the head, without saying anything, picked up one of the wood with embers in which flame was rising high and kept it on the aside. And he sat down and start watching again.
The host was paying attention to everything. Being alone for a long time, he was also feeling happy that he is with the head of his organization today. But he saw that the flame of the detached wood fire was slowly fading. After some time the fire was completely extinguished. There is no heat left in it. The glow of fire soon went out from that wood.
What had been the bright light in that wood some time ago and the heat of fire was now nothing more than a black and dead piece.
Meanwhile.. the two friends greeted each other very briefly, uttering few words. Before leaving, the head picked up the discarded wood and again placed it in the middle of the fire. The wood smoldered again and started burning like a flame and started spreading light and heat all around.
When the man reached the door to drop the head, he said to the head, “thank you very much for coming and meeting me at my house”.
Today, without talking anything, you have taught a beautiful lesson that a person alone does not exist, it shines and scatters light only when the organization is together; As soon as he is separated from the organization, he gets extinguished like the wood.
Friend’s, our identity is formed from the organization itself, so organization should be paramount for us. Our loyalty and dedication towards the organization should be towards the idea associated with it and not to any individual.
Organization can be of any type, family, social, business (educational institutions, industrial institutions), cultural units, service institutions etc. Human life is incomplete without organizations, so stay organized wherever you are in every field!
